Resenting taxes imposed by the British parliament, patriot protests escalate to a peak on December 16, 1773 with the destruction of a shipment of tea, known as 'the Boston Tea Party'. The British government punished Massachusetts by closing the port of Boston and taking away self-government. The Patriots responded by setting up a shadow government that took control of the province outside of Boston and would place General George Washington to take charge of militia units besieging British forces stationed in Boston,
The British government in February 1775 declared Massachusetts to be in a state of rebellion. Just add some dice and a table and you are in business. Well, some assembly and a little paint is strongly encouraged. This starter set had enough forces to replay basically any battle in the book. You can build for skirmishes or multiple regiments on each side. The only thing really lacking is some French for the later parts of the war and some dragoons which Warlord Games currently does not carry. The plastic frames allow for some customization so your ranks are not identically posed and if you get crazy with a razor you can create some more variety. The figures required no clean up of casting materials, just minor sanding where limbs and heads glue on. I built in regiments with two infantry sprues per command sprue allowing for a 12 inch or 300 cm front if grouped in 2x2 company formations. The laser cut building is great but I find I use the cast barriers and zigzag fencing constantly - great additions. No regrets in purchasing. If you build one regiment for each side, you can begin battling immediately by yourself to teach yourself the rules thanks to the flexibility Black Powder provides.
