In Europe, massed artillery was beginning to be a regular feature on the battlefield, and came at times to dominate the field. This was much less the case in America for various reasons, such as cost, availability and terrain to name but three.
That being said, there were few battles that did not feature artillery of some kind, and any General would have been very happy to have the support of medium or light guns. The guns were on the whole bravely and well served by both sides, inflicting losses at long range with bounding iron cannon balls, and using case shot – a tin of tightly-packed musket balls – at close range. This box can be assembled and painted to represent Continental gunners, including the famous ‘Molly Pitcher’, or their opposite numbers, the Royal Artillery.

That is a quote from Henry Knox the founder of the US's artillery. It's still fitting due to shipping and handling times. What a great little set to augment your regiments and create some deeper effects on your battlefield. As mentioned in the other review, assembly of the cannons is tedious, the parts only fit together one way, so build in stages, and, dry fit before applying glue. The heads being separated from the hats allow you to combine with spare Hessian parts for Hessian artillery too. After building one "Molly Pitcher", I used spare hands holding objects (or not) from other sets to customize as additional females on the game table allowing for spies, observers, prisoners, and hunters. The horses' pose is somewhat different than Warlord Games other horses so if you are customizing dragoons, consider swapping this horse into your ranks. I made dragoons from a shotte and pike set of cav.
I love this set, there is so much going on in these sprues and the detail on the cannon is amazing the only negative thing is that the assembly of the cannons is a bit finicky and a little challenging but over all 10/10 purchase!
