xThe Egyptian armies of the Old and Middle Kingdom existed prior to the introduction of the chariot. As such it is often neglected in favour of the army of the New Kingdom with its chariots and more exotic troop types. None the less it is an interesting combination of native and allied troops and a good match for its historic opponents.
